Swimming & snorkelling close by
5 to 15 minutes by car from Casa di Lumi, you’ll find a wide range of swimming options:
- Hidden coves — lightly visited, ideal for quiet days
- Lively beaches with restaurants, water sports and sun loungers
- Rocky coastlines for snorkelling, with clear water and abundant fish
- Cliff-jumping spots into deep water
Each beach has its own character — from family-friendly sandy stretches to adventurous rocky bays.
The Fango valley — freshwater pools in the highlands
About 45 minutes by car from Casa di Lumi lies the Fango valley — a hidden paradise in the Corsican highlands. The Fango river has carved its way through an impressive rocky landscape, forming countless natural basins of crystal-clear freshwater. These so-called “gumpen” invite swimming, climbing and lingering everywhere — in a landscape that is rough, green and entirely untouched.
Ideal for a day trip combining hiking and swimming. Bring a picnic.
