Casa di Lumi
Balagne rocky cove with crystal water and mountain panorama

Water everywhere you look

From crystal coves to the Fango valley

From bathing coves to hidden river pools

Balagne is one of the most water-rich regions of Corsica — and everything is close. Within minutes by car you reach beaches and bays of very different character: quiet, half-hidden stretches of sand for relaxed days, lively beaches with bars and water sports, rocky coastlines for snorkelling and cliff-jumping.

Swimming & snorkelling close by

5 to 15 minutes by car from Casa di Lumi, you’ll find a wide range of swimming options:

  • Hidden coves — lightly visited, ideal for quiet days
  • Lively beaches with restaurants, water sports and sun loungers
  • Rocky coastlines for snorkelling, with clear water and abundant fish
  • Cliff-jumping spots into deep water

Each beach has its own character — from family-friendly sandy stretches to adventurous rocky bays.

The Fango valley — freshwater pools in the highlands

About 45 minutes by car from Casa di Lumi lies the Fango valley — a hidden paradise in the Corsican highlands. The Fango river has carved its way through an impressive rocky landscape, forming countless natural basins of crystal-clear freshwater. These so-called “gumpen” invite swimming, climbing and lingering everywhere — in a landscape that is rough, green and entirely untouched.

Ideal for a day trip combining hiking and swimming. Bring a picnic.
